Research indicates that inadequate oral health can increase your risk of a stroke, heart disease, respiratory disease and cardiovascular disease. Therefore, good overall health may be enhanced by a healthy mouth. Within our practice our aim is to bring mouth to its healthy state
White Filling
Composite resin filings or white fillings are the most common used fillings at our office. White fillings can be used to restore a tooth to function and integrity. White Fillings enable you to maintain your beautiful white smile even if you require treatment.
No longer is it necessary for unsightly Amalgam (mercury) Fillings to be used in dental treatment. Virtually invisible, White Fillings make your teeth appear whiter and brighter than before with strength even better then metal restorations.
White Fillings are not only limited to new dental repairs, older restorations may also be replaced. These esthetic materials will help give your smile a new lease on life.
Root Canals
We combine modern technology and expertise to make endodontics fun, uplifting and non threatening for the patients we serve.
A root canal is one of the most common dental procedures performed, well over 14 million every year. This simple treatment can save your natural teeth and prevent the need of dental implants or bridges. Root canal therapy is needed when the nerve of a tooth is affected by decay or infection. In order to save the tooth, the pulp (the living tissue inside the tooth), nerves, bacteria, and any decay are removed and the resulting space is filled with special, medicated, dental materials, which restore the tooth to its full function.
At Chikitsa Child & Dental Care, we use one of the most technologically advanced root canal systems in gurgaon. With this system, we can start and finish your root canal in one appointment! As well, the rotary system that we use makes your appointment a lot more relaxing and the outcomes more successful.
We highly recommend placing a crown on posterior teeth which have undergone root canal treatment as with the removal of pulp and blood supply tooth becomes brittle and is more prone to cracking with heavy bite forces.
Extractions
We at Chikitsa Child & Dental Care are trained to remove teeth gently and precisely, preserving the bony structures underneath. Depending on if they are removing a single tooth or multiple teeth, you have the option of being comfortably sedated during the procedure. We will gladly answer your questions about dental extractions and how you would like to replace these teeth.
Extraction is performed due to different factors
- Decay is so extensive that the tooth is irreparable
- A tooth shows signs of a vertical root fracture
- Gum disease and periodontitis has severely broken down the tooth's support structure and where bone grafting is not indicated
- When finances dictate a more affordable solution to a dental problem.
- When a tooth is growing in a direction that is unfavorable
Sleep Apnea
Are you tired, stressed out, and moody because of interrupted sleep?
When a sleeping person stops breathing for 10 or more seconds, they have "apnea." OSAS, or obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, is one type of sleep apnea. Lack of adequate breath during sleep reduces airflow, causing the brain to tell the body to wake up and breathe. In some cases, sleep apnea patients only move into a lighter stage of sleep, while other times, patients wake completely. Many factors may contribute to airway blockage, from the size of passages and oral or airway structures, to swelling of passageways or position of the tongue.
The sleep apnea patient's snores can disturb a sleeping partner's rest, too.
The gold standard of care used to be a CPAP machine which is a Continuous Postive Air Pressure machine to force air to your lungs. It works, but research has shown that the compliance rate after 1 year of use dwindles to a meager 10%. Because of the bulkiness of the machine and the limitation of movement, it usually finds itself collecting dust in the corner of the room.
Even more effective, patients may now wear dental appliances that reposition the tongue or mandible (lower jawbone) to facilitate breathing . A Swedish study showed that the anterior mandibular positioning dental device (AMP) is actually more effective than surgical therapies.
At Chikitsa Child & Dental Care we have successfully treated patients with this appliance to the extent that snoring completely stops!
Wisdom Teeth Removal
Wisdom teeth are the last of the adult teeth that emerge from the gums in your late teens or early twenties. These large grinding teeth, also known as the third molars, sometimes never develop in certain people, while in others, up to 4 teeth are seen, one at each end of the upper and lower gums.
Wisdom teeth usually cause no problems, but if there is not enough space for them to grow they can cause pain, swelling, infection or damage to other teeth. Surgical removal (extraction) of one or more wisdom teeth can help to resolve these problems.
The wisdom teeth removal procedure is routinely carried out as a day-case procedure with no overnight stay. Some patients can choose to have their wisdom teeth removed under general anaesthesia. This means they are asleep during the procedure. Many people opt to have their wisdom teeth removed under local anaesthesia, which means that they stay awake, but the area around the wisdom tooth is completely numb. Sedative drugs can be given with local anaesthesia to help you feel relaxed during the procedure.
Our services are provided in an environment of optimum safety that utilizes modern monitoring equipment and staff who are experienced in anesthesia techniques.
Dental Jewels
Dental jewel is a special decoration, for example diamond or another stone, which can be attached to your teeth.
If the tooth to which a jewel will be attached is healthy, you are a suitable candidate for this treatment. Fixing of the jewel is completely painless and does not require anesthesia. The jewel is stuck with an adhesive substance, this process does not damage the enamel.
You will probably need few hours to get used to the small jewel in the mouth. Our staff will give you instructions concerning the care of dental jewels. These jewels do not damage the enamel surface and can be removed at any stage without any problems.
Crown & Bridges

To improve the aesthetics of your teeth, crowns should not necessarily be the first treatment of choice, because a dentist needs to grind a significant portion of tooth away. Other options such as veneers or dental bonding are less invasive. However, since veneers and dental bonding restorations are only as strong as the supporting tooth, crowns provide an excellent alternative.
- After root canal treatment or dental implant a crown maybe fitted. The crown is often needed to protect the tooth after these treatments.
- Significant decay has occured and not enough tooth is left to allow a filling.
- For patients with a significant cavity they may opt for the added support a crown offers to the tooth.
- If a major part of the tooth has broken and it is impossible to be built up using normal bonding procedure.
- Their are many reasons why acid erosion can occur such as too much sugar in your diet or poor dental hygiene. They can cause erosion to the point where a crown is the only option to preserve the existing tooth..
- For cosmetic reasons many people choose to have all their teeth enhanced with porcelain crowns.

After a period of time crowns made from metal and porcelain / ceramic cause dark lines in the gums can appear that are not very attractive. If you are looking for a natural appearance porcelain or ceramic crowns give the best results.
The costs of dental crowns is usually reflected in your choice of one of the many different types of porcelain crowns on the market.
Dental crowns require the same level of care and attention as your natural teeth. Providing you maintain a good oral hygiene program and attend regular dental check-ups, a high quality dental crown can last 10-15 years.
Stage One – First you will be provided with a local anaesthesia. Your cosmetic denrist will then remove any decay tooth and reshape it with a special dental drill. The tooth is shaped so as to allow the crown to be positioned over the top of it.
Following the shaping of the tooth an impression is taken using a special moulding material'. This mould of your tooth is then used as a reference to produce a new crown to custom fit perfectly for you.
It can usually takes two or three weeks to produce your dental crown to your exact specifications. To protect the tooth while your dental crown is being made you will be fitted with a temporary crown. This is to help protect and secure the tooth on a temporary basis.
Stage Two - When you return to your cosmetic dentist for your second appointment the temporary crown will be removed. In order to help the dental cement bond the outer surface of your prepared tooth will be roughened with a specialist acid used by your cosmetic dentisr.
The last stage of the treatment is when the crown will be positioned over the tooth to see if it fits comfortably and the colour matches your existing teeth. Finally once both you and your cosmetic dentist are happy with the look, your crown will be fixed into place.
